Next week's class

Hey teammates,

I will not be able to make it to the next class (I'm sorry! I have an interview in the city!!) But please post any decisions made as a comment to this post. You'll want to continue to playtest and see if you can find pieces online. Also think if anyone has a board that we can use and get me the measurements of the board so that I can start really working on the board design. Get Chirag up-to-date and you can text me up until 12pm if you'd like my opinion on anything. Please also post what everyone should get done by our next class (someone needs to write up rules, for example) and when (or if) we can meet up before next Monday. I am free Thursday after 4, and Sunday evening.

Thanks guys and sorry again!

  2. I started working on the rules for the next class. However, we still need to decide on a few things. Feel free to make any changes! The rules are also on google docs.

    Rules :
    How to Win
Be the first player to obtain one of the key card and safely get to the last room in order to escape the house. In the last room you will encounter one of the 6 monsters (Vampire, Ghost, Demon, Witch, Werewolf, or Zombie) at random and you will have to kill that monster in order to leave.
If you are not able to kill the monster ... (We need to decide on that - are you out of the game? do you drop all your cards? which room are you going to start in?)

    Movement
Players will start in the first room and go in a full circle (clockwise) in order to reach the last room.
Players move by rolling one die.
Players are allowed to move both forward and backward within the actual room. However they are not allowed to move back to a previous room, unless directed to by the cards or scared off by the monsters.

    Cards
If you land on a block with bloody footprints, you will draw 1 card (From either the big pile or separate piles, we still need to decide on that)
You will draw 1 of the 5 types of cards.
    Attack Cards - Monster cards
Weapon Cards - Weapons to kill a monster if you draw an attack card
Monster Mash Cards - Cards to maneuver and utilize “IT”
Item Card- cards to kill other players
Key Card - total of 2 key cards
You are only allowed to hold up to 7 cards, this includes the key card and any other cards; however you can only hold a maximum of 3 weapon cards.

    Monsters
“IT” will start in the same room as the other players, however “IT” will move counterclockwise instead of clockwise. “IT” can only be moved when a player uses the Monster Mash card.
If you are killed by “IT”, you have to drop all your cards back into the pile(s) and move to the first room you started in.
If you are killed by one of the small monsters (ex: vampire), you have to move back to the previous room. You are allowed to keep your cards.

    Sarah :)
